Dereck Joubert, Filmmaker
Wildlife Films
Botswana
Dereck Joubert has
been a wildlife filmmaker for roughly 25 years in Africa, with multiple Emmy’s,
a Peabody and other awards, and having produced films like Eternal Enemies, which won the Jackson Hole festival some years ago
has done other films, Ultimate Enemies,
Relentless Enemies, and Eye of the
Leopard which is in the festival now, all for National Geographic, and An Elephant’s Tale for Walt Disney
Pictures. The Disney film was a large screen release, and he is presently
working on two projects for National Geographic Features, so can bring some
insight, both historical and for the future to our understanding of the
documentary for theatre experience.
